Margo Joyner (Manly & Mona Vale)

Underline

Margo is one of our very own Northern Beaches locals. She grew up on the beaches and studied Physiotherapy at Cumberland College of Health Sciences just before the days it became Sydney University. You’d never know it when you see her, but she went through Uni with one of our ‘old’ Physio’s Matt Geister , enduring many an arduous drive to downtown Lidcombe some 30 years ago.

Margo comes with over 25 years experience in the Physio game. She has worked in both hospital and private practice areas in Australia, the UK and in China.

Her particular Physio interests lie in:

• Exercise as treatment/rehabilitation, Clinical Pilates and pre and post natal exercise
• Falls prevention, Orthopaedic and general surgical, Respiratory and Neurological Physio

Margo has been involved in Dance since she was a young girl. She has taught Ballet since she was a teenager and still enjoys doing Dance classes now. The rest of us Physio’s watch her posture and movement with awe as she flows and glides from one exercise to the next during her Pilates sessions with her patients.

Margo has undertaken numerous post graduate courses including Clinical Pilates Equipment, Womens’ Health, Real Time Ultrasound and Health Education. For 14 years she has been and still does work at Royal North Shore Hospital as a Childbirth Educator. Her philosophy is that she loves anything to do with helping people understand their body and to move well.

When Margo is not in the Clinic she still loves being active, walking, swimming, doing ballet, rock climbing and small wave surfing. There is a creative side in there too, with a soft spot for reading or even just watching the rest of her family on the soccer field.

Margo is working together with Eliza Walne in Mona Vale and Kate Brocklehurst in Manly to run the services of Northern Beaches Pelvic Health. www.nbpelvichealth.com.au

They help many patients, both men and women overcome the often undiscussed and misunderstood area of pelvic floor/bladder and bowel dysfunction.

We love having Margo with us at MGS, her passion and enthusiasm is infectious. For Matt it’s just like the old days, sharing a laugh or two.
