Ben Pagett

Ben Pagett

Ben joins the MGS team with a positive and friendly energy with an interest in acute injury management and prevention having spent the last 3 years practicing in a sports injury clinic in Canberra. Originally growing up in Brisbane, Ben is a keen surfer with a love of the ocean. His life then moved down to Canberra where he quickly adjusted to the winter sports, snow and mountains. Playing Ice Hockey, snowboarding and skiing just wasn’t enough as he would still make the windy drive over the mountain ranges in search of a wave down the beautiful south coast.

Ben is a University of Canberra graduate, completing his Post Graduate Masters of Physiotherapy in mid 2012. Ben is a current La Trobe University student undertaking his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy. Ben has a passion for improving people’s quality of life and encouraging healthy body habits. With a particular interest in biomechanics and return to sport rehabilitation, Ben strives to return his patients to their full capacity and return people to an active and healthy lifestyle. Ben is a current member of the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia’s Physiotherapy network and has a particular interest in winter sports. He is also a member of the current CBR Brave Ice Hockey roster competing in the Australian Ice Hockey league.

Ben has worked with several sporting teams and national sporting teams:
– Canberra Knights Ice Hockey – Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) (2011-2013)
– CBR Brave Ice Hockey – AIHL (2014-2015)
– Australian Inline Hockey – IIHF World Championships (2013-2015)
– Canberra United FC – Westfield W-League (2011 – 2015)
– Woden Valley FC – Canberra National Premier League (2010-2013)
– Canberra Calvary – Australian Baseball League (2014-2015)

When asked why he chose Sydney’s Northern Beaches to come to, he loves the relaxed nature of life by the sea here. Ben is still settling in to not having such a hectic training schedule, but that is letting him complete his post graduate studies in Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, and having the time to catch up with his Sydney based friends.

We welcome having such a passionate and highly trained Sports Physio to our practice and enjoy having him being part of our crew.

Mick Fanning or Kelly Slater, and his favourite quote is from Theodore Roosevelt “Comparison is the thief of all joy”

Hard to pick and individual film, but I have a soft spot for any Guy Ritchie film (Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells). I’m more of a comedy or action man. Having said that I can easily chill out to a Harry Potter film without a doubt.

I am a sucker for a Harry Potter book

Country would most like to visit?
I have travelled a fair bit but would love to go to South Africa
