Active Release Technique (ART) for Injury Rehab and Prevention

Active Release Technique (ART) for Injury Rehab and Prevention

What is ART? Is a movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

What is used for? Headaches, neck and back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica and hip pain are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.

How does it work? When you get neck pain from sitting poorly at your computer for too long. Your body produces dense scar tissue or what feels like a “knot” in your neck and shoulder muscles that stop the muscle from moving freely. Overtime muscles become tighter and weaker and nerves can become trapped, resulting in pain.

ART allows us (the physio) to identify the tension and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves that are contributing to the cause of an injury or pain.

ART aims to treat not only the symptoms but also the underlying cause of your injury or pain to fix you permanently and prevent further injury from reoccurring.

Hello, and thank you very much for having shared this information on rehab and post injury therapy. There are many reasons why it’s important to receive the proper help after receiving an injury. I think it’s important to do what’s needed to get the help and attention your specific injury needs in a prompt time.
